TEEN
CENTER
The WDM Teen Center provides
a safe and entertaining place for Stilwell and Indian Hills
Junior High students to go after-school. The Teen Center
was created through a collaboration of West Des Moines Parks
and Recreation, West Des Moines Community School District
and the YMCA.

2:30 - 6:00 p.m. - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
2:00 - 6:30 p.m. - Wednesday

TRANSPORTATION
Buses run from Indian Hills to the Teen Center every day at
dismissal and at 4:00 p.m.
SUPERVISION
Staff members from West Des Moines Parks and Recreation, Community
Education and the YMCA provide supervision at the Teen Center
each day.
SPECIAL
NOTES
All students must have a valid ID to enter the Teen Center.
Students are required to sign in and out.

CHOW
Chill at the Hill on Wednesday
(CHOW) allows Indian Hills Junior High students to stay after
school on early release Wednesdays. The program is run
by Community Education.
LOCATION
Indian Hills Junior High, 9401 Indian Hills Drive, Clive
HOURS
1:50 - 3:50 p.m. - Every Wednesday
ACTIVITIES
Crafts, movies, games, open
gym, special guest presenters. Snacks are provided at
each CHOW.
SUPERVISION
Staff members from Community Education and the Walnut Creek
YMCA, along with high school volunteers, provide supervision
at each CHOW.

SPECIAL
NOTES
Students must sign-up for CHOW in the Indian Hills Student
Center by 4:30 p.m. the Tuesdays before each CHOW.
If a student has signed up for CHOW in the Student Center
and CANNOT attend, please call Danette Rieper at 633-5004.
If a student needs to leave early, he/she
must bring a note from the parent/guardian, or the parent/guardian
must sign the student out.
Transportation will NOT be provided. Students
must be picked up at 4:00 pm.

I-CARE
I-CARE is the district's service
learning program. I-CARE gives students the chance to
volunteer and make a difference in their community.
I-CARE activities take place
during the school day at Stilwell and Indian Hills Junior
Highs and also afterschool at the Teen Center.
