Babies are born learning and their parents are their first
and most influential teachers. These two simple truths are
the foundation for Brighter Beginnings, an early childhood
family learning program that helps parents with the most important
career of their life - PARENTING.
The theme for the 2006-2007 sessions of Brighter Beginnings
is Focus on Friendship.

Parents and children
attend these free Brighter Beginning classes together. Class
time is divided into time for parent/child activities and
parent time without the children. During this time, parents
discuss various topics with educators and other parents while
children enjoy playtime and activities.
Classes are scheduled by children’s age. They last for
one hour and 15 minutes and are held at Valley United Methodist
Church, 4201 Ashworth Road, West Des Moines.
When you attend Brighter Beginnings classes, please remember
to label diaper bags and sippy cups and inform staff of any
dietary allergies or other special needs. If you wish, you
may bring a powered drink mix (tea, coffee or cocoa) to share
with other parents during discussion time.

To register for Brighter Beginnings classes, participants
must fill out a registration card and mail or drop off the
form to Community Education.

Participants need to fill out seperate registration cards
for EACH session. Please register for ONE class time per family
so we can serve as many families as possible.
Registration for SESSION I ends August 11.
Confirmations will be sent by mail the week of August 21.
