Crestview Celebrates the 100th day of School! (Finally!)
Crestview celebrated the 100th day of school on Thursday, February 4. Students in grades K-2 celebrated in many different ways. Some made necklaces out of 100 fruit loops, some completed the writing prompt "If I had $100 I would..." and others showed off collections of 100 things. Pictured below is Chase Kumm, a second-grader in Mrs. Kellogg's class. Chase celebrated by blowing 100 bubble gum bubble (WOW!)

HELP FOR HAITI WEEK!
Crestview’s Student Council will be raising money to help the victims of the Haiti earthquake. Throughout the week of Feb. 8 (this week!), students can bring in change to donate. Change will be collected in each classroom. A bake sale and craft sale will take place during lunch on Thursday and Friday. All items will sell for 50 cents. Thursday is also Hats for Haiti day. Students may pay $1 to wear a hat to school. All money collected will be donated to the American Red Cross to help earthquake victims.

"Night in the Media Center"
Seventeen 3rd - 6th graders who met their reading goal for Iowa Children's Choice books in January were treated to a "Night in the Media Center"on Saturday, January 16th. They feasted on pizza, played games with high school volunteers (Hannah Parker, Haley Toresdahl, Rebekah Reynolds) and enjoyed meeting therapy dogs, owned by Tonja Osborne of Mystic Moon, Inc in Des Moines.




Impact of Art XX
Seven Crestview students have been selected to have their artwork displayed as a part of the Impact of Art XX show at the Des Moines Art Center. These student works and those of other students from West Des Moines will be on display from Jan. 4 through Jan. 28 in the education wing of the Art Center. The students who will represent Crestview are Hunter Groteluschen, Anna Lindstrom, Willy Munoz, Hanna Kramer, Mackenzie Sparks, Grace Matera, Maria Masteller, Junior Soto and Emery Hintz.
