The WDMCS Home Assistance Program has been offering support to families who wish to educate their children at home since the early 1990s. The first year the program was offered, there were six students. Today, more than 125 home-schooled students are enrolled in grades K-12.
Programing was enhanced in 2006 based on a survey of parents. Teacher assistance and enrichment classes are provided to supplement parents’ home schooling efforts. Students can now take writing, science, physical education, Spanish, drama, and art enrichment classes. In addition to these classes, a wide array of field trips are provided throughout the year.
