Board Approves 2014-15 WDMEA Agreement
During its April 28 meeting, the West Des Moines Community Schools Board of Education approved on a 6-1 vote the agreement between the district and the West Des Moines Education Association, which is the teachers’ union.

The total teacher salary and benefit package increase will be 3.67 percent. This includes the increase in the contribution to Teacher Salary Supplement, all salary related items, all applicable payroll taxes including increases in payroll taxes, increases in IPERS (Iowa Public Employees Retirement) and all insurance costs including new fees.

WDMCS Superintendent Dr. Lisa Remy noted this is below the state average of teacher salary settlement trends, which is about a 3.8 to 4.2 percent increase.

The agreement is available on the district website. (Page 227).
